Handmade wooden horn cleats are traditional and will add the finishing touch to any wooden boat.
We make these wooden cleats from the same top-quality timber we use in our boat kits. Ash is a tough, hard-wearing hardwood with good shock resistance.
We supply the cleats unfinished, for you to varnish using whatever varnish you use on your boat. Be sure to seal the wood before installing, especially the underside (epoxy is excellent for this, if you have some left over). If you are adding them to a boat that is already varnished, you may want to varnish them before installing – otherwise, you can varnish them in place at the same time as the rest of the boat.
Fittings are not included.
