Our range of kayaks have a variety of cockpit sizes that often differ from the cockpits of production boats, so it can be hard to find a spray deck that fits correctly and makes a good seal with the cockpit coaming. These high-quality spray decks and cockpit covers are specially made for our kayaks for a perfect fit.
These spray decks are made in Britain by Reed Chillcheater, from their high-performance Aquatherm fabric. Aquatherm is waterproof and fast-drying. It has 360° stretch and is breathable and UV-stable. It is also lighter and less bulky than a standard neoprene spray deck, so it packs down to a small size for travelling. Aquatherm spray decks are a good choice for sea kayaking, touring, recreational kayaking, surfing and racing but neoprene is recommended for whitewater and for practising rescues.
The Chesapeake/Shearwater/Petrel spray deck fits the following boats: Chesapeake 14-18, Chesapeake Double/Triple, Sport Tandem, Shearwater 14-17, Petrel and Petrel Play.
These spraydecks have an adjustable waist with a drawcord. See the table below for maximum waist sizes.
